Here are 7 easy things you can do to leverage the Best Resource Award for Online Tutors:

winning award

  1. Mention you won award on social media

Social media sites are the easiest places to start in letting people know that you just got an award.

You can take a snapshot of the award or share the blog post about your award (see no. 4) depending on what will work for a specific site. Instagram obviously calls for a photo while Facebook can both have a photo and link back to your blog. Experiment! The important thing is people know that you won and what it means.

  1. Put the winning award on the sidebar of your blog or website

You see this all the time in bloggers’ sites. When they win a Best Blog award, for example, they post an image of the award on their sidebar so visitors can easily see it. Another thing you can do is to make the sidebar link back to this blog post about how the winners are chosen so they’ll have a chance to know how your resource was selected (and how awesome your resource is to have been selected!).

  1. Write a press release about winning award

A press release is always a good way of getting the word out about your award. You can write it yourself or hire someone to do it for you. Make sure the press release is accurate, sounds professionally written, and error-free.

  1. Write a blog post about winning award

Tell your blog readers that you just got an award. This will only reaffirm to them that you’re the real deal. It will also allow your readers to interact with you. It’s never a bad thing to get a “congratulations!” from one of your readers!

Guest posting is another way of taking advantage of blogs to leverage your award. If you are a member, you are automatically qualified to guest post on my blog (yes! right here!), so you can have all the other members know your thoughts about your award.  This will also get you seen even more with the online tutoring community.

  1. Add information about winning award on about page

When people stumble upon a new website, one of the first things they check out is the About page. They want to know what the website is all about and who are the people behind it. Imagine how cool it is to have your new visitors see that you got this cool award and they will go all “hey this guy must produce great content,” so they will go and check out what you have to offer.

  1. Mention it in marketing materials

What marketing materials do you regularly produce to market your services? Maybe you are an educators coach and you want to market your services to Math teachers who want to improve the way they teach. You then produce flyers, brochures, and even videos that showcase your skills. You can put the award in these materials to amplify your credibility.

  1. Send an email to existing contacts

Have an email subscribers list? Shootout an email about your award. You can include the link to your blog or social media post to encourage them to find out more about it.

You can also use this email as a chance to promote your resource. For example, give a freebie or discount to the first 10 people to download or buy the resource. You can also incentivize people to share it with their friends on social media. Be creative!
